Hey, everybody, a timely one today, you know, for a change.

Because as we head into the midterms, I'm frankly a little scared about our democracy.

And I got two great guests, Ari Berman, Ari covers voting rights for Mother

Jones magazine, and he is pro voting rights. You should know that. I'm also honored to have

Jocelyn Benson, Michigan's Secretary of State, who is up for re-election. Secretary Benson,

of course, was on that job for the 2020,

shall we say, shit show in Michigan, which included litigation from the Crack,

crackin team of Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani, who were fined and sanctioned for

presenting bogus evidence before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals,

and for their, as the judge put it, historic and profound abuse of the judicial system.

Now, Giuliani and Powell's defense was that, quote, no reasonable person would conclude that the statements were truly statements of fact.

That was their defense.

No reasonable person could conclude that the evidence and the arguments we made in our case to overturn the presidential election here in

Michigan were truly statements of fact.

We are in a fraught time. The Republican Party has been taken over by election deniers, and we

have to do everything we can to ensure that the people responsible for administering our

elections actually believe in democracy. So that's really the subject of this one today,

and I know you'll get a lot out of it, you know, for a change. By the way, for those of you in
