Today, I want to talk about eight things that I've learned about how to make a major life decision.

This really got me thinking after

having a conversation with somebody who said, you know, I want you to help me to see how to make

this decision. He was wrestling with something that was going to change his life quite a bit.

How do I know that I'm not going to make a mistake that I'll regret?

And I said, well, how do you know if you can trust me to tell you how not to make a decision that you'll regret?

I mean, that could just keep going on forever.

And so when I said that, I was only partially kidding because at some point, all of us really have to ask,

how do I know that what I'm doing is right?

Now, when this guy was asking me about this major life decision, that's really kind of in context,

because most of the really, really important decisions aren't

difficult because they're made for us. Those really, really earth-shaking kinds of things tend to

happen to us. Most of us just aren't going to have to decide things like,

will I deny Christ if I'm forced to fight lions in the Coliseum or something like that?

But it's also true that those little decisions are not that stressful. Should I eat chick-fil-a
