For those of you who have followed me on Instagram, you've gotten used to me covering a new case every Thursday on my Instagram stories.

But this week, I'm giving you your Thursday case here in podcast form.

Yay, you don't have to wait until Monday for a new episode.

Once we're done with the Chris Watts case, we're going to cover a new case every Monday.

So this episode is going to be an example of what's to come.

Ronald and Melanie Haskell got married in 2002.

They were living a quiet LDS life in Utah and they were raising four children.

Sounds perfect, but it wasn't in 2008.

A domestic dispute between the two escalated to the point where Ronald dragged his wife Melanie out of their bedroom by her hair and then

punched her in the head over and over again.

While there are three and five year old children at the time, we're watching the entire thing.

Naturally, Melanie called the police and Ronald was arrested.

He was taken in for simple assault and committing an act of violence in front of a child.

He was also deemed a threat to the safety and well-being of their children.

But the justice system being what it is, Ronnie made bail and was released within five hours of his arrest.

The couple tried to make things work, but it just doesn't happen.

On July 9th of 2013, Melanie followed for a protective order against her husband.
