I am doing great Katie and I am ready to talk backup.

Ready to talk backup. You know this is a topic that I didn't think we were going to get into at

least this quickly on MacPower users because I kind of thought that it was a

topic that everybody has covered already.

Yeah, but we've had a lot of email about it. I think it's the biggest requested show we've had.

I think so too. So let's talk a little bit about why backup is important and I think what people don't realize is that every single

hard drive will die.

Did I say that straightforward enough?

Is there any question left?

I'm not sure what you meant by that.

Every single hard drive at some point in its life cycle will fail.

Whether it fails while you're using it, or whether it fails after you've already discarded,

but every single hard drive will die.

It's just a matter of time.

It's the famous saying, there's only two kinds of hard drives. There's

hard drives that have died and there are hard drives that will die. So I see

having a backup as a lot like having insurance.

It really dictates the difference between inconvenience

and total complete disaster.

And I'm sure, as you know, the cost of data recovery on a drive that has totally died can be thousands of dollars and even then no guarantee of success.
