I should have written a scooter around San Francisco during the Golden Age, like a

month and a half ago. Yeah, I was golden week. When they all showed up from several

different companies, Bird Spin and Lyme bike, just all of a sudden scooters showed up

everywhere and there were no rules and nobody had formed hardcore opinions on them yet.

And I remember walking out of the radio station and and scooter laying there and I needed

to go to do with a coffee, but I looked it over and I thought, ah, it's over there. I'll

just walk. I should have written around on the scooter. Because at that time, people

were just riding everywhere if you never saw it. Just down the street up onto the sidewalk

round the corner, drop it, go into the coffee store, come out, pick up a different scooter,

down the street, hop up on the sidewalk, get off the sidewalk, up there's people back

on the street, whatever, just willy-nilly. Zoom around. And I thought, quit using your

legs like a sucker. And it didn't bother me. Oh, one of the reasons I didn't ride the

scooter, this is how stupid I am. Huh? I look at the scooter said must wear, I have a helmet.

I thought, I don't have a helmet. So I walked on and then I saw people zooming everywhere

and I never saw one person wearing a helmet.

Hmm. Scott lost. Which by the way is fine with me. You're a grownup. I tell you what,

they're in danger of hurting themselves badly. So I say you take a night stick to them.

Why is it like the war on drugs? Drugs will ruin your life. So if you use drugs, we're

going to ruin your life. Put in jail. So these companies all of a sudden dropped all

these scooters, various places. San Francisco, Austin, Los Angeles, to the annoyance of residents

who see them as a burden, not a benefit. It says here, I don't know if that's mostly
