Todd, what's your origin of the word dude?

It's got to be Southern California beach culture, right?

That's why I saved this because I was surprised to learn a little bit about it.

The word dude is, I don't think that's ever going to go away.

I think it's got some staying power.

It's also saying something's cool. I mean, nobody says neat anymore. I mean, nobody says, nobody, maybe in the late 60s, they said, groovy. But there are certain words that do sound dated, but some... You can say something's cool with the red. That's going to be always okay. Rad is fallen by the wayside. Rad.

Nobody says that. Even before that didn't have a connotation with like a dude ranch. No. Like isn't that? No, that's not how it started. It got to that eventually. Yeah. But that's not how it started. What other words I'm thinking of? Recording in reaction to a particular fad among young men in New York City in the late 19th century.

Think hipsters of the 1880s.
