There is a strain that is going to drive me nuts if I cannot identify it. Fabric problem to start the show on Game Week Tom.

Usually the fabric problem is the color purple in our jerseys not garnet. Yeah, I mean I'm all pumped up. It's Game Week ready to go. Welcome in everybody and this little string is going tickle tickle tickle tickle tickle tickle. Can't have all that.

Yep, that chart here in hand we pretty much guessed that right. I think we were right on every position. I mean just you and me talking.

It's almost like we were able to go to practice or something. It's almost like we saw the same thing. The coach saw we were like yeah, he should probably start there. He should start there. Good that they see it that way. I'd hate to think they were wrong.

This early in the season already. Yeah, so here you go guys. It's time to go. It's hard to believe isn't it? Let's just big picture here. Come on in here and talk to Uncle Jeff. Here we go. Where are your heads at? You feeling alright? Everybody okay?

You are eagerly anticipating another season just as I am. But are your hopes high or are they dampened by the handful of years that lay before this one?

You know the ones that had us thinking. Goodness gracious. Are we ever going to get back? I know there's some trepidation. I know that the cautiously optimistic crowd. That would be the vast majority of Florida state fans. I think right about now. I think the most cynical amongst us.

The most jaded broken down frustrated. Fan amongst the group on a Monday of game week finds that tinge that something in them they thought was dead.

That had been beaten out of them. They woke up today and they went. All right. I am. I've got to admit I feel I feel pretty good about this team.

Like whether it's true or not that just that's it's the it's the fan in all of us. It's hard like I'll give you a good example and certainly the goals aren't this.

But I'm a Pittsburgh Pirates fan you guys know this if you're regular listeners so you know much of my life has been spent hoping against hope in the regards to the start of a new season in my passion for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

There have been a few exceptions including when I was eight years old and I saw him win the World Series but it's been a minute.

So you know and there's been a smattering of seasons. That ended in heartbreak the early 90s Braves fans you guys know the outcome of those series.

Well game seven action hard feelings then there's the run from about eight years ago where we're back to back seasons were right there 98 wins you know real good team league MVP and Andrew McCutchen got a sion candidate and get called looking looking good Tom.

The Cardinals won 100 games oops and we get beat in this new fangled one game play and scenario in that nice I was lovely so yet at the start of every spring training.

I lie to myself and go you know they get a few pounds is your baseball fickle if they can win a lot of one run games you never know maybe they'll get to 81 wins or 82 wins finish above 500 and that will satiate the fandom in me for the moment I don't have these crazy aspirations of winning a World Series just a winning season I'll allow myself to believe because I don't care how much of a realist you are and I am a realist and very pragmatic.

I know that the personnel all look at it and be like and good that's not good this guy's going to be our opening day starter and he's not any good he wouldn't start for half the team he wouldn't be the rotation for half the teams in the national league but he's our ace that's never a good son but maybe has a good year maybe he figures it out so Florida state has better than that in the way of hope in recent success.

Florida state has cachet that is the envy of college football most places not all the most and so we're not that far removed from having won the national title in 29 straight games we're not that far removed from having been a perennial powerhouse one that was loved by the masses for its consistency of dominance.

I like that feeling I like walking through the door and a Florida state hat or shirt or in the midst of a conversation with the fellas maybe at a different locale maybe we're out of town covering a game whatever it is we're doing and it comes up.
