Sam, welcome. How are you, sir? Good. How are you, man? Excellent. You know, often when we see these headlines,

it's some 19 year old num skull who's been on the internet and the FBI gets onto him and semi-lure them down the path, etc.

But this is definitely not one of those, is it? Now this one's quite different. This is a 45 year old suspect who's been living in the United States for the past four years.

Who the federal government says is a member or former member of ISIS, and Al Qaeda in Iraq.

What's he been doing for these four years in the United States? Do you have a job as his friends? What's going on?

He apparently moved initially to Salt Lake City in 2014 where he was a truckloader for a thrift store.

He lists his occupation here in Sacramento as a, um,

auto mechanic. Um, and he was living in an apartment in an unincorporated area of the county with his family.

So it seems to me he's either abandoned ISIS or he's laying low waiting for something.

Well, the government says that, you know, he came here in 2014 seeking asylum as a refugee and he, um,

according to the court documents, lied about his background, claimed that he had never participated in any violent activities.

The Iraqi court papers that are on file here in Sacramento along with the FBI documents,

uh, view him otherwise. They say that he planted IEDs along roadside that he led cells of, uh,

AQI and ISIS in Iraq and that his hometown basically was a hotbed of this activity and that that is where he had
