One night we were left home alone.

It was a cold winter night and our parents were at a friend's house in the next town over.

We were in the downstairs living room when we heard noises coming from upstairs.

Both being only ten we were obviously scared.

The stairs to the second floor were located in front of the front door.

We creeped through the house trying not to make any noise.

We heard two voices talking about what they were going to do with us when the time was right.
