The conflict continues.

I'm Ted Lindner Fox News. The war between Israel and Hamas now over two months old

intensifying as the US rejects the UN resolution calling for a ceasefire.

Fox's Greg Palcott with the latest from Israel.

Up and down the Gaza Strip, there's been pretty much full-scale urban combat,

maybe the strongest of this war so far.

Attention is being paid to the south where it is thought a stronghold of Hamas leaders and

fighters are, but also here in the north where several pockets of Hamas resistance remain.

One terror cell knocked out near that school

where the idea of claims to have found Hamas weapons stashed away including an AK-47

rifle allegedly hidden inside a giant teddy bear.

The humanitarian situations get worse by the day a resolution introduced in the

security council calling for a ceasefire was approved by most countries.

The US vetoed it, saying there wasn't a strong

enough condemnation of Hamas. More than 1,200 people have died on the Israeli

side since the start of the war over 17,000 people on the Palestinian side have been

killed.

And the University of Pennsylvania's president Liz McGill has resigned after taking

heat from lawmakers.

The resignation of Liz McGill was announced with a statement from the school saying

she will stay on as a tenured faculty member at the

universities Carrie Law School.
