Pence steps aside on Matt Napolitano, Fox News, former Vice President Mike Pence announcing

he is suspending his campaign for the White House.

It was a shocking announcement because the people here in this auditorium had no idea

it was coming us in the media section.

We didn't have any idea because it just came at the end of his speech.

This is a major change in the Republican presidential primary contest where you've got the former

Vice President 64 year old Mike Pence who is out there and he's been campaigning since

early June for this.

He's always talked about this has been a long-term goal of his to reach again for the White

House that he is dropping out of the race for the presidency.

He told the crowd that he simply believes that this is not his time.

But again, this is a stunning change for the former Vice President who by all accounts

was still struggling going into the next debate.

In fact, he hadn't even qualified yet for the third debate, which is going to be taking place

in Miami a little less than two weeks from now.
