I'm Lee Silicera, Fox News, President Biden speaking before a group of Jewish leaders

this afternoon, saying again, the U.S. support for Israel after the invasion by Hamas is unwavering.

The president said he has talked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other leaders

in the region. He quantified the losses felt in stark historic terms.

The deadliest state is Holocaust. His message to American families with loved ones still there

is that efforts continue to get them home, but he can't say what's being done.

Folks, there's a lot we're doing. A lot we're doing. I have not given up hope.

As war rages in Israel, the president has asked for more steps at home to protect Jewish life in

America. Fox's granal Scott, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is now on his way to Israel.

The United States has Israel's back. We have the back of the Israeli people.

We have their back today. We'll have it tomorrow. We will have it every day.

Blinken says the U.S. is determined to make sure Israel gets everything it needs to defend itself.

Several American commercial airlines have suspended flights into Israel,

but there may be help for Americans who want to leave.

State Department is making preparations to contract commercial aircraft to help airlift

thousands of Americans who want to leave Israel and can't get a flight out right now.

Fox is Jennifer Griffin of the Pentagon. There will be no vote tonight in the House on a new

speaker after members agreed on a nominee this afternoon. Steve Scalice is the nominee,

but not the speakers. Scalice defeated Jim Jordan in a secret ballot off the floor.

The vote 113 to 99, but it's unclear if Scalice can win on the floor. The bar is higher there.
