The president of Iran unleashed an attack on the United States and its policies targeting

his country and remarks at the United Nations.

Iranian president, Ebrahim Raece, via translation said he is clear on his nation's contrast

with the U.S.

They represent the past and we represent the future.

Raece was critical of America's withdrawal from the joint comprehensive plan of action

or more commonly the Iran nuclear deal under President Trump and efforts to revive it under

President Biden.

Choose a way, choose a path, either JCPOA or not.

Raece says sanctions against Iran hurt his people and painted the United States as a nation

whose global influence is on the decline.

President Biden said the U.S. is working to deal with the threat of Iran.

We're working with our partners to address Iran's destabilizing activities, the threat

and regional and global security and remain steadfast in our commitment that Iran must

never acquire a nuclear weapon.

This comes after the U.S. and Iran completed a prisoner swamp that brought five Iranian

Americans home in exchange for the release of six billion in assets and the release of

five Iranians held in the U.S.
