In Delhi is now a tropical storm after slamming into Florida's Gulf Coast as a category

three hurricane.

Today, I was able to visit Taylor County, where Hurricane Idaal, you made landfall earlier

this morning.

We clearly have significant damage throughout the big bend region, but the response has been

swift and people are getting help.

Governor Ron DeSantis, the floodwaters have receded in some areas, but tens of thousands

are without power.

State officials say search and rescue operations are underway.

Florida Power and Light reporting more than 270,000 electricity outages in the state.

Some barrier islands entirely cut off from the mainland, with storm surges from 12 to 16

feet reported.

Maximum sustained winds, 125 miles per hour at its peak.

And Cedar Key, most of the downtown has been submerged.

The fire department there saying propane tanks were blowing up all over the island.

In Keaton Beach, drone footage shows roof blown off, trees toppling on the houses.

And then tarp and springs, residents just beginning to measure the scope of the damage.
