Communications Advisor John Kirby says the White House is concerned about

Russian President Vladimir Putin's first trip to North Korea in

nearly 25 years.

Not just because of the impacts it's going to have on the Ukrainian people, because we know

North Korean ballistic missiles are still being used to hit Ukrainian targets.

But because there could be some reciprocity here that could affect security on the Korean

peninsula.

Putin told North Korea state media he vows to bring an even closer cooperation

between the two countries to unite them in their resistance against the West.

This is NATO members are spending more than ever on defense more than two years into Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Before Russia sent tanks and troops across the border with Ukraine, just six of NATO's 32

members were spending at least 2% of GDP on the fence, the target figure for the

alliance. Now a record 23 allies are on track to meet that pledge.
