Greenfield calling on the UN Security Council to adopt a

resolution backing the proposal to end the fighting in Gaza through a ceasefire and hostage deal. The deal

Advisor John Kirby says it's fair to say the ball is in

Hamas's court after Israel presented a ceasefire in hostage release deal last week.

Kirby says a pause in fighting would allow humanitarian aid to surge in the Gaza.

He also says President Biden accurately described the contours of the deal in remarks last week despite some Israeli

leaders suggesting otherwise.
