The South Carolina Senate has approved a bill that would ban most abortions after

around six weeks of pregnancy sending the bill to governor Henry McMaster's desk for

his signature.

The proposal restores the ban.

South Carolina had in place when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe vs.

Wade last year.

A ban that once it took effect was overturned by the state's highest court because it violated

the state constitution's right to privacy.

Meanwhile in Illinois, police say a man ramped his car into a building set to become an

abortion clinic in hopes of destroying it.

Police arrested Philip Bino at the scene of the crash in Danville.

He's been charged federally with attempted arson of a building used in interstate commerce.

He also faces county charges.

Prosecutors say Bino drove a car with gas containers in it into the planned women's clinic.

The Illinois building was being converted into an abortion facility because Indiana's

legislature voted a year ago to ban abortions.

Court challenges have paused implementation of that ban.

Danville is near the Indiana state line.
