Morning the Dead. I'm Roncher, Stern Fox News. Grief today after the loss of at least 23 lives from violent weather in the Midwest, including tornadoes.

Fox Weather's Katie Byrne reporting from hard hit St. Louis. This community is mourning the loss of a member of their church, but also the four others in the city who lost their lives

because of this. They're also trying to grapple with the destruction roofs torn off of homes.

Trees are down. Damage is widespread. We know police blocked off roads and enforced a curfew

overnight. Many homes and businesses left without power. In some cases, they are just exposed to the elements

completely with roofs and walls completely gone. The city says at least 5,000 buildings

between homes and businesses have been damaged. This recovery is going to take some time.

Kentucky, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Illinois also hit severely. and russian officials held their first direct talks in

This says President Trump is promising to push for a ceasefire on the ground.

That's something that was not achieved.

But the two sides did meet for almost two hours for the first time for having direct meetings in more than three years.

They did agree to exchange a thousand prisoners of war each, but no real major progress in that first meeting.

Trump had said there will be no breakthrough on peace talks without him talking directly with Putin.

Ukraine pushing for that ceasefire.

They want sanctions against Russia if Russia fails to agree to a ceasefire.

And Russia demanding all four territories in eastern Ukraine.
