I'm Lisa Lacerra, Fox News, as the U.S. fights to move ships through the Strait of Hormuz,

and the UAE says it intercepted an Iranian strike.

After President Trump announced this weekend that the U.S. would escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz,

the U.S. military says it successfully guided two American

flagged merchant ships. The United States also denies claims Iran hit an American ship. The president

says the U.S. military sank seven small Iranian boats and again prodded another ally to join the

fight. Posting, quote, Iran has taken some shots at unrelated nations with respect to the

ship movement Project Freedom, including a South Korean cargo ship. Perhaps it's time for South Korea

to come and join the mission. Fox is Rich Edson at the White House. Iran's foreign minister says

the events in the Strait of Hormuz make it clear there's no military solution to a political

crisis. A man who was carrying a gun near the Washington Monument this afternoon, who was shot by law

enforcement after he opened a fire on them. Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn

says the suspect who has not been identified was taken to a hospital and a young bystander

was also injured and taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.

New details after shooting last night in Edmond, Oklahoma.

At least 23 people were injured, some critically with gunshot wounds, at a lakeside party.

As police investigate and seek those responsible, Edmond Oklahoma Mayor Mark Nash reassured residents despite the incident.

Our community remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family. Mayor Nash did not talk

about the ongoing investigation. He did say gatherings without a permit, as this was said to be,

can't be allowed to jeopardize safety. We're already taking steps to review and strengthen park operations, permitting processes,

and security measures. Edmund police say they do not believe there is still a threat.
