Israel's military standing down in Gaza. I'm Jack Callahan Fox News six months

to the day after the Hamas terror attacks. In a surprise announcement Israel

says it is pulling all troops out of southern Gaza.

Now they have just one brigade left in the strip that does continue to operate.

The move is not viewed as an end of the war war but rather an opportunity to give combat forces

arrest to prepare for future operations. Negotiators are in Cairo, Egypt trying to hammer

out the details of a ceasefire agreement that could bring more of the hostages home.

Pressure is growing on the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cut a deal.

Weekly demonstrations are also calling for new elections here in Israel.

Netanyahu is resistant to new elections and has said this would threaten Israel's security

and war efforts.

Fox is Trey Yankston, Tel Aviv, pro-Israeli protesters gathered by the United Nations in New York City today

demanding the release of civilian hostages who are still being held by Hamas.
