An intense search. I'm Lisa Lacerra. Fox News as the U.S. service member is missing after an F-15E fighter jet was downed in a remote area southwestern Iran.

The U.S. F-15E was shot down late Thursday night while it was still dark before the sun rose on Friday morning in Iran.

U.S. officials tell me there was enemy fire during the rescue of one of the two F-15E crew members, and there is a very risky

search and rescue operation still ongoing right now. Video from Iran appears to show one of the

American rescue helicopters being hit by enemy fire, black smoke coming off of its tail.

An F-15E strike eagle has a pilot and a weapon systems operator on board.

It is the workhorse of the Air Force.

In addition, at A10, Wartog was struck by enemy fire but was able to return to safety.

Israel was trying to help rescue the missing crew member, halting all strikes in that area of Iran.

Israel is sharing intel with their American counterparts, as they have been throughout the

entirety of this war and before the war. An Iranian television anchor with a state-controlled media

has put out the call

for the locals to take custody of any U.S. personnel found on the ground for an unspecified reward.
