So much for that shutdown. I'm John Sauce, Fox News. The House has joined the Senate in approving a bill to avert a government shutdown that was looming by this weekend.

The bill which continues federal government spending at current levels

passed despite strenuous objection from Texas Republican

Congressman Chip Roy. We continue to spend money we don't have undermining our

own national security and our own well-being, funding a bureaucracy that's at war with the people that we represent.

But Connecticut Democrat Representative Rosa Delorrio says it will keep the government operating beyond Friday's deadline.

While the Appropriations Committees in the House and Senate continue bipartisan negotiations

on the final 2024 funding bills.

The bill extends government spending until March in

Washington Jack Callahan Fox News. A hearing has been sent to address the claim

of alleged inappropriate relationship between key people in the Georgia

election interference probe.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee has set February 15th for a hearing to address

an alleged relationship between Fulton County DA Fani Willis and

special prosecutor Nathan Wade.

DA Willis has been given until February 2nd to respond to the filing.

The announcement comes less than a week after a claim filed

by Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green about the alleged relationship

in which she says Willis and Wade engaged in travel together and

misuse of official funds. Neither Willis nor Wade have reacted to the hearing

being set.
