attacks against Iran-backed rebels in Yemen as the group continues to target Western

ships in the Red Sea.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby says it's too soon to tell if these retaliatory

strikes, which began last year, will deter the Huti attacks. The U.S. launched its third strike after the

Huti ballistic missiles presented a quote imminent threat to both merchant and

U.S. Navy ships in the region.
