I'm Chris Foster, Fox News, but the Biden administration is expected to announce a new

package of military aid for Ukraine, including some controversial weapons.

Sources are saying the Pentagon will be sending cluster weapons to Ukraine as part of a new

military aid package.

Cluster weapons are generally launched by artillery, then break apart into subunitions.

Unexploded rounds from the weapons can lay on the ground, only to be triggered by an

unsuspecting civilian.

Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Pat Reiter says they're capable offensive weapons.

It can be either loaded with shape charges, which are armor penetrating, or they can

be loaded with fragmentary munitions, which are anti personnel.

Russia is reported to be using them in Ukraine.
