Summary

Jim Climetti, retired FBI profiler for the New York City Prosecutor and writer-producer of CBS's Criminal Minds.

Let's pick right back up where we stopped last time you guys.

We were talking about Michael Peterson, the case against him, the bloody stairwell, the blood spatter.

Morin was talking about, and the death of Elizabeth Ratliffe.

In addition to the affairs he was having in his marriage, all of this evidence came to the jury.

The judge allowed all of that in.

The jury got to evaluate it all, but there was really pretty key evidence in the case that many of the jurors cited later as having particular significance.

And that was the evidence by the local agent, Deaver, who was kind of the blood spatter analyst who did the recreations and described exactly how he thought the crime happened and how the blood ended up where it did.

Right. And he also built a scale model of the hallway and the stairway.

And he gave some really, I would call, damning testimony during the first trial.

He did. And he was someone that we didn't really see it in the film, but there were hearings ahead of time ahead of the trial where the judge had to listen to his qualifications and pre-qualify him as an expert, where he made a lot of representations about how many false scenes that he had responded to, how much blood spatter.

And now, this is the case.

And so, the judge's blood spatter analysis that he had done and overall how many scenes with blood that he had been involved in assessing how that blood got where it was.
