And that my friends is a little tune you might be trying to place. And you know, this

week I've been really trying so hard to understand this phenomenon people are talking about

called visco girls. And so much of what they're about is so adjacent to what was popular

in the 90s, early 2000s, etc. And kind of sent me into a whack-a-mole of rabbit holes as

it relates to all the things that I loved when I too was, you know, young, pretentious

about music, spending my parents money buying bracelets at surf shops. And you know, I'm

grateful that the days I would log long hours sitting in front of my huge ass gateway desktop

computer, burning CDs. I got from lime wire, maybe bear share, Napster, and its heyday.

And just making masterpiece playlist of songs that expressed how hard it was, you know,

to be a suburban white 14 year old girl who spent her free time like going to youth group

and playing volleyball. And upon going to places like, you know, Mertle Beach, the Outer

Banks, Hilton Hat, these rough vacation spots, you know, tough corners of the world. I

had to get a brew through oversized t-shirt, a salty dog. I needed it if I wasn't at the

Ronjon or the wings getting the latest and greatest in hemp and poohka, then truly I was

in a dark space. And you know, when I would endure tough times like running out of allowance,

money, spending all my allowance money on a faux street sign from a souvenir shop at

the beach that said Katie's parking only. When I would, you know, return from vacation,

hoping to be tan. And then obviously, as you know, having to douse myself in my mom's

blush so I could fain a sunburn. And I hoped that maybe my crush would notice that I had
