It describes my approach to life, and it's also a daily practice for so many other people that I admire today. What's the word? Oh, backtalker.

Backtalker.

Backtalking is the act of turning a critical eye to things we are told are unfixable.

A backtalker is someone who uses their voice to create space for honest, critical, and expansive conversations about justice and about belonging.

Backtalkers question inequality,

fascism, and illiberal democracy as well.

It is a muscle that we have to strengthen

in order to change the things that we've been told are unfixable.

It is the necessary and courageous response to anyone tempted to shrug off injustice as just the way things are.

Backtalker is also the title of my latest book coming out on May 5th of this year.
