Hey and welcome in to the House of L podcast I am Lawrence Holmes it is episode 79 of the podcast and I thank you for hanging out with me. I'm looking forward to you listening to my next guest because I really do think that this guy does a great job of kind of acting as a collective

conscience of of media in town. I'm a big fan of his and I'm glad that he had time to make this happen and I love his

story so much and you'll hear it and hear us talking about it where you have a guy who was a bouncer,

was throwing people out of clubs and whatnot. And now he's on the copy desk for the Sun Times.

Like that's incredible to me.

He is a tremendous success story.

And I think that his journey is really important too because it's steeped in hyper-local journalism that's kind of the school that Evan Moore comes from. He's a

hyper local journalist that is now able to take all the things that he learned in doing that and

use it on a broader scale.

He's bringing that type of sentiment and work ethic and microscope to larger issues.

And I think it's very much needed. He is a voice that I just think it is really if I'm gushing I'm gushing because I think the dude is is a special dude and I don't say that about a lot of people and I know I'm putting a lot of responsibility on him by saying this.

But I think that this is one of those guys that is going to win awards.

He's already won a couple of them,

but he's one of those guys that you're going to be like,

man, I remember when that guy was just

covering South Shore or what, you know what I mean like now he's going to be a

national international guy but we had a great conversation about the path that he

took to get to the Sun Times and our shared love for Chicago and particularly

the south side of Chicago he's a fascinating interview there's a lot to learn there. I hope you enjoy it from the Sun Times.
