December took a little bit of a turn for us, as sleuthing sometimes will do.

This week, we are going to take a journey into Chatsworth,

the stately and ancestral home of the Cavendish family in Derbyshire, the home of the

Dukes of Devonshire through time and what a history it has.

The Cavendish family motto from Latin Cavendos, translating to safety through caution.

You may see some of that as we go along, sometimes with their dukes, sometimes with their duchesses.

We're not just going to talk about the home, though, saved by Deborah Mitford, the last of our infamous and famous Mitford sisters,

we are going to spend a little time with each of Chatsworth's legendary duchesses through time

and all of their spider webs. I wanted to be sure to get these British aristocratic beauties

into the mix before we talk about some of

their American counterparts next week. Before we begin today's 500-year ride through high society history,
