Welcome to Syntax. Today we have Tim Neutkins on from Versel, NextJAS, co-author of Next

0:07.3

Yes to talk to us all about everything that's going on with on on

0:13.8

Server Components with React

0:15.0

compiler with TurboPack,

0:17.0

kind of a lot going on in the whole space recently.

0:21.0

So I thought like, let's bring them on to talk about it. So welcome Tim

0:25.5

thanks so much for coming on. Yeah thanks for having me. Or should we start this off?

0:30.5

0:35.2

So you know I guess first and foremost I know you know this is a react thing and not a next jest thing but I'm sure you all are very tightly

1:04.9

than I will ever be able to do I think.

1:06.8

1:13.1

that there were a whole lot of Hooks, right?

1:14.6

So like, use state, use memo, that kind of thing.

1:18.7

We really like in the end, like,

1:20.8

they didn't have the ergonomics that you want,

1:23.2

eventually when you're writing this code.

1:25.5

So they were like created in a way that you can

1:28.9

incrementally get rid of them if you were to build a compiler at some point that's really what the reacting did.
