Let's jump into this.

So why don't you, I'm glad we finally have the opportunity to do this.

I know we've talked about doing it now for, geez, months, right?

I mean, it's been more than a couple months where we had looked at doing this,

and then you kind of foresaw to wait until this time because there was going to be a lot of

information coming out and a lot of changes for rules and regulations for this upcoming deer season

here in the state of Michigan. So if you wouldn't mind, if you want to just do a somewhat brief introductory of yourself

and, you know, why we're talking here today.

Yeah, no, and I, again, appreciate the opportunity to come on and talk about this stuff,

and especially have time devoted to talking to it.

Like I said, it's so much of the conversation with most discussions is limited to like 30 seconds or two minutes.

You can't really get into it a whole lot.

But yeah, so my name obviously is Chad Stewart. I'm the deer management specialist for the

Michigan DNR. A little bit of background is, you know, we found CWD and free ranging deer in

Michigan back in 2015, seemed to be doing pretty well with it in that initial area where we were

finding it, but we found a pocket of positive animals last year and really centered around that

western Montcalm County area. And it changed the strategy. It changed the discussion a little bit because we were finding so many of them.

And we spent a lot of time this year going into trying to figure out what regulations would look like to try to help address this,
