Then why is it in your backward version of the English language, you have a chat to somebody. Every time I see that,

I think that, let's say you had a chat to me. When I see that, that you are having a chat to me,

that makes me think you're just giving me a monologue. You're just pontificating for hours. Where do you see chat too?

I don't remember. I just saw it a minute ago. You say chat with. That's what you should say.

That's the American way to do it. But somebody of some British... Oh, I might say like I'm going to have a chat to Kate.
