Galatians chapter 2 verse 20.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.

And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.

It gets hard to find one verse in the Bible that more fully and completely summarizes what

it means to be a Christian, what it means to be a follower of Christ.

I mean I'm sure there are other verses that might rival this but it's it's tough to

top Galatians chapter 2 verse 20 like this is what it means to be a

follower of Christ I have been crucified with Christ what a statement I have

died with. I have died with Christ. I have died to my sin. I have died to myself. All my attempts to overcome sin on my own I have died to them. Not that I don't

sin anymore but I don't want to sin like I have turned from a repentative sin and I'm trusting in Christ.

I've been crucified with Christ and I don't even live anymore, but Christ lives in me. This is the life of the Christian, the life of Christ in me.

Like, followers of Jesus are not people for whom Jesus is part of their life.

Fathers of Jesus are people for whom Jesus is their life.

You catch that difference? This is huge. And this is the curse of

nominal Christianity. Across much of North America, different places around the

world, many people who claim to be Christians,

and yet Jesus is pretty much a part of their life, as opposed to Jesus being their life.

Like this is the life of the Christian,

not Jesus kind of on the side over here

and you got a bunch of other things

going on in your life.
