I'm in the business of predicting things, so naturally I want to be right.

But I'm a very firm believer that in any field, not just in fantasy football, the best

analysts are the ones who not only have a sound process, but they can look at things they

incorrectly predicted and see why they incorrectly predicted it.

The best analysts are the ones who are open to being wrong, but use that as a building

block for future decision making.

Entering the season, I wasn't into Jared Goff or the Rams offense.

I had done a study a few years back that showed that generally speaking, how a quarterback

performs during his rookie year, that's a good indicator of how that quarterback's career

will generally go.

Jared Goff, regardless of weapons and the offense of line issues and the coaching staff,

was awful his rookie year.

I didn't see a reliable scenario where he'd make this big of a leap.

And I was wrong, but why was I wrong?

Well I think there's two reasons.

Sean McVeigh could end up being one of the best hires that we've seen in a really long

time, but also because I oversimplified things.
