First of all, I'd like to apologize for my voice. It is 1 a.m.

I am in a hotel room and I've been travelling for many, many hours. So, as you know,

last week I did the talk at the Dunfaniy Workhouse about the history of Irish storytelling.

And this week, I went to Edinburgh, so I was supposed to go with a friend.

Well, no, that is a bare-faced lie.

I was supposed to go with a romantic companion.

And then they were beset upon by a series of calamities resulting in, you know, a minor surgical procedure and them legally no longer

being allowed to fly for a while, which, you know, dampens one's romantic and devil somewhat.

And so I asked around, and then I realised that my social circle is quite small, as it turns out. And so I had asked, like,

the two friends I have that I would be, like, comfortable spending time with. And then I put

a bolo out for, like, the internet, because of course, that's not a clearly stupid way to get muddled.

But then there was a Canadian who was visiting Scotland and wasn't really doing anything.

And I was like, cool, you can come with me. We'll do stuff, right?

Sunday, sorted.

Because I was going to see Rubin's show.

Like, that was the whole purpose of me going.

I was supposed to go.

And, oh, I should like to say that the romantic
