So very excited that I'm going to have on Judith Polgar.

Let me tell you a story because it's really fascinating.

In the late 1960s, a young man named Lazzle Polgar, P-O-L-G-A-R, a teacher and a psychologist,

he had an idea for, let's call it an experiment.

He specifically wanted to marry somebody who agreed with his ideas about education and

that they would have children.

They wanted to have six children or he wanted to have six children and they would focus

them at an early age on a topic that the kids would gravitate to, whether it was tennis

or music or math or chess or whatever and they would homeschool them and teach them in

a very focused manner this topic and see if they can create champions or the best in

the world.

So an interesting experiment was that he was basically testing ideas is achievement talent

based or skill based, you know, slash hard work.

And his opinion was is that talent is useless and that hard work, dedication and perseverance

and learning how to learn were the important things in becoming a master level or world

level achiever at any topic, any domain at all.

So Lazzle Polgar's three children were Susan Polgar who at a very young age became the

first female chess grandmaster who was ranked as a grandmaster according to the male

standards at that time.
