Colossians chapter 1 verses 9 through 12.

This is one of those places in the Bible where we see Paul praying for the Christians he's

writing to in a way that leads us to pray the same exact things for Christians around us,

for followers of Christ and our spheres of influence. And so I want to read these verses and then just

lead us to pray specifically for people around us in the same way Paul was praying this for people

around him.

Colossians chapter 1 verse 9 says, so from the day we heard we have not ceased to pray for you,

asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and

understanding so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord,

fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God,

being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the

Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. So let me lead us

to pray this, and let's pray specifically for the church around us. So think about your local church.

So the followers of Christ that you are a member of, the body of Christ where you're a part of that

body, think about your church as we pray this prayer. So we pray, oh God, right now for our churches, for the people in our churches.

We ask that they would be filled with the knowledge of your will in all spiritual wisdom

and understanding.

Oh, God, help them to know your will.

To know your will revealed in your word,

help them to have clarity from your word regarding your will for their lives. Give them,

we pray, spiritual wisdom and understanding based on your word. Help them to grow in wisdom. Help them to grow in understanding, to grow in the fear of you,
