Summary

Joe Biasi thru hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2015. Like many other thru hikers, Joe struggled to keep up with the mental challenges of the Appalachian Trail. Rather than quitting, he continued on out of stubbornness and ended up finishing the trail. This might seem like an inspiring story, but in this episode Joe talks about why he wishes things might have gone a bit differently.  HUGE thanks to Sawyer Products for sponsoring this episode! backpacking for his job we talk about all of that stuff and I gotta say the second

half of this episode it's a little bit sad it's a little bit sad. It's a little bit depressing.

1:11.8

I still think you should listen to it.

1:13.7

I think there's value there, but Joe kind of had a tough time on his Appalachian Trail

1:18.1

Thur hike and he was very candid and honest about it.

1:22.0

He didn't hold anything back and so just, I guess I don't want to call it a warning,

1:27.3

but just a heads up up it is a little bit

1:29.2

sad everything turns out okay in the end he finishes the trail but it's a little bit different than

1:34.1

some of the more positive stories that tend to get told on trail tales but he did finish off the

1:40.1

episode by telling a pretty funny story something that happened to him on the AT.

1:44.3

So it's not all bad.

1:45.6

It was a really interesting conversation.
