The future has finally arrived. Here we are. We're living in some kind of science fiction

film, you know those old... in some kind of science fiction film.

You know those old, well I say old, they're not that old,

but you know the science fiction movies that came out in the 80s and the 90s and maybe the 70s and a lot of them would at the beginning of the film

they would give you a date you know be be be like the date would arrive on the screen, like, you know, the Terminator movies that have scenes that are set in the future, and they kind of give you a date at the bottom of the screen.

And it's a date that is supposed to give the feeling or the impression of being way off into the future.

This is what the future is going to look like.

That's what the movie makers were saying to us.

This is our vision, our scary and dramatic and action-packed vision of the future.

And biddip, biddip, the date would come up on the screen.

And sometimes the date would be like

And, you know, the audience in the cinema or watching at home on tape on VHS or whatever or DVD later on,

the audience will be going, oh, 2022, imagine what the world will be like. It's going to be like

Terminator with robots walking around, killing people with lasers and stuff, and gangs of resistance fighters making their way through the rubble.

Well, we've actually finally made it. Here we are in 2022.
