Summary

Susie got to visit her favorite tourist trap in Boston (where everyone knows her name!), but had to do so the old-fashioned way since her family's phones malfunctioned. Let's just say, if the bad guys ever take down our country's phone service we're all screwed. We learn why some people are wearing noise-cancelling headphones for a majority of their day, and why it might be bad for their mental health. And Susie preaches to Gen Z again about why they need to toughen up, but it turns out Sarah might be on their side since she wraps herself in a sleep cocoon because it's soothing. We learn the history of Dr. Brommer, the quirky castile soap creator, and why he succeeded in business, but not in life. We debate whether Crime Con is a harmless community of true crime enthusiasts or a re-victimizing event that profits off of pain. Susie watched a wild documentary about a small town in the Australian outback that is the center of a murder mystery. Plus, we hear the amazing efforts the National Archives takes to preserve documents and our history.

episode 7? Hello, Ethel Merman here. How are you? I am doing wonderful.

I had an eventful weekend. I went and played Frisbee golf, disc golf, up in the place where the

leaves were turning and it was beautiful. Wow, leaf peeping and Frisbee golf. This is a very white weekend.

0:47.7

This is yes. That sounds lovely though. Yeah, however, a lot of diversity at the disc golf course.

0:55.1

Well, that's good. Yeah, so I was happy with that. So yeah, it was real fun. Just, you know,

1:03.8

L-I-V-I-N, apostrophe. How about you? I too had an eventful weekend. I left the bunker. We went to

1:13.6

Boston. Had a lovely time when I was explaining to someone why we were going. I'm like, well,

1:20.4

my son likes history and I like cheers. So that's why we wanted to go. And I went to cheers. Oh,

1:28.1

yes. What'd you think? They knew my name. No. What did you think? I loved it. I loved every second

a bit. On the menu, in fact, there was, and Lincoln ordered it. An item called the burger

1:43.6

meister. Oh, stop. So that felt right. That felt right to me. That is great.

1:50.6

I mean, I have some notes for them. Like, if I were hired, yeah. If I were a consultant,

1:58.2

I would say to the people of Cheers Boston, that like pick a lane because it's like they,

2:05.9

they can't decide whether they want to be like a novelty Cheers bar where people are going to come

2:11.5

and try to talk about Carla or whatever. Right. Or if they want to be like a sports bar because

2:18.0

they have like TVs with sports on, they could be playing cheers and doing cheers trivia. And

2:25.7

I love all that. Yes. Because everyone that's going to this place really loves talking about

2:32.4

cheers or at least is feeling great about the 80s and 90s. And really wasn't getting that

2:40.4

it scratched. Yeah. Is it they have an upstairs and downstairs? They do. Yes. The upstairs is more

2:48.0

of like a sports barry. No, it's like a replica. They tried to make it like a, okay, okay.

2:52.6

You know, a miniature version. And then the downstairs, just like a dive bar. Okay. That
