Hello and welcome to a time of being still and being loved, a Christmas edition.

I'm Alisa and I'm so excited to be with you and take some time to rest in his presence.

Take a deep breath and inhale as your belly expands and fills with air and you're wide

in your heart with breath, let your collarbone widen. Exhale, your shoulders drop out

of your ears. Give yourself a moment to soften into whatever posture you've chosen.

Just begin to feel the support of the ground or the chair.

And today we are going to offer up prayers and supplications. Our gift to Jesus are going

to be prayers like Jesus. I'm going to be reading a version of prayer from the Iona Abbey

Worship Book. This is a prayer and supplication for needs. We are going to offer to Jesus

this time our gift of prayers and supplications like he made for the world he so dearly loved.

So first I'll read from Hebrews 5-7. Allow your body to soften and absorb the word of God.

In the days of his flesh Jesus offered up prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears

to him who was able to save him from death and he was heard because of his reverence.

Thank you God for your word. Thank you that the word was made flesh and walked and dwelt among us.

So we come now God to offer you our prayers and supplications for the world that hurts

and mones and cries and groans and waits for a savior. May we show the world your son

who came and gave his life for a world he so dearly loved. We celebrate the gift of who Jesus is.

We love you and Jesus name may men.

So just as Jesus offered up prayers and supplications and he was heard we offer ours now.

I give to you in your presence those who suffer pain and ill health.

May they know the deep peace of Christ.

I offer up to you in your healing presence the sufferings of my mind and spirit.
