I embarked on a solo hiking trip deep within the Canadian wilderness, excited to disconnect

from the world and reconnect with nature.

As an experienced hiker I hiked many trails before and felt confident in my abilities,

so I set off early in the morning with my backpack, supplies and a map.

Feeling the crisp air on my face and the excitement building within me, the trail was beautiful

with towering trees and sparkling streams.

I felt a sense of peace and tranquility that I had not experienced in quite some time.

However, as the day wore on the trail became increasingly difficult to navigate.

Finally the map needed to be corrected and I veered off course.

I pushed on, determined to find my way back to the main trail, but as the sun began to

set I realized I was hopelessly lost.
