So helping a patient through alcohol withdrawal, I have to say, is probably one of the most challenging things that you will encounter as a nurse. It requires an enormous amount of

patients, empathy, you have to be very strong and you have to be incredibly vigilant to keep both the patient and yourself safe.

It can be incredibly heartbreaking to witness, especially when it is severe and it can be very severe.
