Take it with a grain of salt.

So grain, G-R-A-I-N, of salt, S-A-L-T.

Everybody knows salt, salt, and pepper.

Well, a grain of salt would be one tiny piece of salt.

So when we say, take it with a grain of salt, what we mean is don't worry about it. Whatever the subject is, don't worry about it. Don't be too stressed out about it. It's going to be okay. If it was a threat, if somebody was threatening you, don't worry. They're not going to

do anything. If somebody was telling you an amazing story, like he's a millionaire, take it

with a grain of salt. That actually means don't really believe it.

The exaggeration should not be worried about.

Do you understand?

So this is a very useful expression,

especially when somebody's worried about a situation.

You have to take those promises with a grain of salt.

I voted for him because of that promise.
