But after a woman's body was found on July 14th in 1985, a man was arrested and

served 22 years in prison, only to be released and have all the charges against him dropped.

On the evening of July 13th, Carolyn Muncie was at home with her two children and expecting

her husband, who everyone called Little Hube, to come home and take her nightfishing.

Instead, the man went to the weekly community dance at a

rec center in their town of Union County, Tennessee. Sometime in the night, the couple's 10-year-old

daughter woke to the sound of a horn and then a deep voice that sounded like her grandfathers,

asking where little Hube was. The same voice told her mother that her father had been in a car wreck near the

creek. They sat up waiting for their parents and at around 1 a.m., their father came home and found

that his wife was missing. He took the children across the street and left to find his wife.

The next morning, on July 14th, Carolyn's body was discovered by neighbors lying

partially concealed in a brush pile at the bottom of a wooden embankment, 100 yards from her home.

She was still in her nightgown and robe and had significant bruises and abrasions covering her

body. There was also evidence that her killer attempted to strangle her,
