Matthew chapter 26, verse 29.

Jesus said, I tell you, I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine

until that day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom.

Oh, these words from Jesus after instituting the Lord's supper.

He takes bread, blesses it, breaks it, gives it to his disciples, says, take, eat, this is my

body.

And he takes a cup, gives thanks, gives it to them, says drink of it, all of you. This is my body. And he takes a cup, gives thanks, gives it to them, says, drink of it, all of you.

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

This bread in this cup, a symbol, a picture of his body, his blood that we're about to be given for our sins,

that have now been given for our sins,

so that we now celebrate as a central part of our worship as the church.

This meal, we take bread, we take a cup. And we remember when Jesus

prepared to go to the cross, took a piece of bread, broke it, gave it to his disciples,

and said, this is my body. Do this in remembrance of me. This is my body. Do this in remembrance of me.

This is my body.

And when we take that bread, we remember how he gave his body for the salvation of our souls.

And we take this cup and we drink it.

And when we do, we remember that our sins have been covered by the blood of Jesus.

That we have entered into a covenant relationship with God that is based on His mercy

poured out for the many for the forgiveness of our sins.

And then, so then we get to verse 29.
