to the show. As lockdown gradually eases, Mayhem continues. There was a lot to talk about

today. General corruption, sleaze at the heart of power. And we've got some great guests

to actually talk about what there's all means, what's actually happening. A lot of politics,

particularly in the political lobby, lobby journalists, reduce what happens to a psychodrama.

It's like an episode of EastEnders. We're going to try and avoid doing that, especially avoiding this

big, the dominant coming show, which all too often is what this becomes. Now, what is going on?

Let's just get a gist, a flavor of some of the things we're going to talk about. And then we've

got wider themes. We're going to look at the big picture. So you've got Dominic Cummings,

who, to be fair, is one of the most unpopular figures in the country, but he claims there is an

unethical foolish, possibly illegal plan to get Tory donors to secretly fund the refurbishment

of Boris Johnson's flat, who possibly got loaned from a Tory donor. Liz Truss, the cabinet

minister, was pretty cagey when asked about that on the Sunday broadcasts. Now, Cummings is talking

about a dossier, and I think this is particularly important, which could down Boris Johnson over

delayed November lockdown, which we will talk about later. But if you remember, Sage, on the 21st

of September called for a circuit breaker lockdown in order to avoid catastrophe, that circuit breaker

didn't take place. Case is surged, so did death, and you variant, of course, was allowed

to enter the wider circulation, which was always the risk as cases multiplied. And more people

died in the second wave than died in the first wave. Now, Cummings himself is reportedly,

privately said to be worried about him going to prison because of vote leave on things that went

on in government. Boris Johnson's special envoy to the Gulf for close ally, Lord Lister,

resigned after scrutiny of his private sector interest. Now, he helped award four billion
