Well, hey there, welcome back to Silent Sales Machine Radio.

I'm your host, Jim Cochrom, and today I'm going to share what has been one of the biggest

challenges my family has ever faced, and it just happened a few days ago, very unexpectedly.

And there's a big business lesson here for all of us, myself included,

and it's very validating actually because the stuff we've been teaching around here for 15 years

was just put to the ultimate test, if you will. And so far, it's really looking great on the other side of this.

But here's what happened. 11 days, as I'm recording this, 11 days ago, our house was struck by lightning

in the middle of the day. One of those little storms, Midwestern storms blew through, the kind

that pop up and go away in about 15 minutes to half an hour.

But it brought with it some lightning.

And one of the strikes hit our roof, actually caught it on fire.

Now, everybody's out safe.

All the pets are out safe.

The worst of it is water damage from the fire department.

They just unloaded on this house. They couldn't get the fire put out. So a lot is water damage from the fire department. They just unloaded on this house.

So a lot of water damage, there will be some losses from that.

Now, all of our family momentos, especially the moms and the ladies out there, I know they're going to be very interested in this part.

And I know it's been very important to my wife. Now that we know

everybody's safe and out, you know, the first thing you think of is family pictures, right? So those

are being professionally restored. We lost a few of them, but everything's so digital now, too. We had

pictures of a lot of the best stuff. So, you know, it's all stuff that's going to be replaced eventually.
