0:00.0	Hi, this is David Platt. I want to thank you for praying God's word with us through
0:09.2	this podcast. And I want to let you know that this series of Pray the Word that we're in right now is a little different
0:16.5	from what you may be used to as far as just taking one book of the Bible and going chapter
0:22.2	by chapter successively one after the other.
0:25.4	So let me give a little context behind what we've been doing and what we'll be doing for
0:30.2	the next few months of Pray the Word.
0:32.5	The Church that I have the privilege of pasturing,
0:35.2	McLean Bible Church in Greater Washington, D.C.
0:38.2	We are reading and studying through the story of scripture together this year.
0:43.2	We started in Genesis 1 and we've been walking through a Bible reading plan that's six days
0:49.4	a week where we are covering the story of the Bible chronologically. So we're going from Genesis to
0:55.6	revelation and along the way we're looking at different parts of the Bible as they
0:59.9	appear in time not just book after book in the Bible, but to see how the whole big
1:05.8	picture story of scripture fits together. This Bible reading plan has about one to two
1:10.7	chapters a day, so for Pray the word what I'm doing is taking one
1:14.9	verse from that day's reading and letting it lead us to pray and then the next day
1:20.3	do the same the next day so what that means is we are not hitting every chapter in the Bible.
1:26.1	Over the course of this Bible reading plan, we won't read every single chapter in
1:31.4	scripture, just going a chapter or two a day over the course of
1:35.3	about 10 months instead we're taking select texts and seeing them in chronological
1:41.1	order not necessarily in the order we see them in the Bible.
