| 0:00.0 | Hey guys, welcome back to According to I'm Megan and I'm Sierra. |
| 0:07.8 | Today I thought it would be kind of fun to do an interview style podcast. |
| 0:12.3 | So this podcast I'll be interviewing Megan and if you guys like this episode then Megan can interview me in the future. |
| 0:19.4 | And it could be next or maybe we'll wait a little bit and then I'll interview Sierra. But if you guys hate it, we don't have to do it. And I'll just be a mystery forever. So I don't have any idea what Sierra's asking me. I really hope. I kind of like came up with questions that were more, not like personal in a weird way, but just like, you know, catered to you, I guess. |
| 0:38.9 | And I hope I came up with like a good amount. I also have a thing to finish off at the end with |
| 0:43.6 | like rapid fire, this or that questions. And I also have a random like 350 good questions to |
| 0:50.0 | ask like if I run out so we can get to around like 45 minutes to an hour because I had no idea |
| 0:54.6 | how to gauge how much was enough. So before we get started with that, it is time to say our |
| 1:01.3 | weekly spotlight. So Megan, you can go first. So me and Sierra went back to Iowa City last week. |
| 1:07.4 | It was Thursday. We didn't have, we got like a head on our classes so we were like, okay, |
| 1:44.6 | let's do the drive. Let's do the drive. Let's drive. It's like a two-hour drive from Des Moines to Iowa City. So we drove there, got to our apartment. And then I will say, I was expecting traffic to be like pretty bare, you know, people are supposed to be staying inside. First of all, can you talk about how Iowa has been in the news recently? Because everyone around the U.S. is mad that Iowa does not have a stay-at-home order. I want to clarify. Everyone thinks that Iowa did not place any restrictions at all. Iowa has the equivalent of a stay-at-home order without calling it a stay-at-home order. And I don't know why... to himself. Yeah. I don't know why the governor doesn't want to call it a stay at home order, but the fact is, like, places are closed just like anywhere else. We are starting to think about reopening, and I don't fully agree with that. I think it needs to be delayed because I do think there needs to be a drop in new cases before we start talking about that. But this whole time, Iowa is one of the states that has been predicted to peak last and to have, like, this is when we're peaking right now, whereas many other states have already gone past that. And I just saw a Twitter moment where I was talking about how Iowa didn't have any stay-at-home order in place, and now they're increasing rates faster than anywhere else in the country. And I was like, well, first of all, they do have restrictions. And second of all, that's exactly what was supposed to happen. Like, that's exactly what every model said, was that I was going to peak last, and they're going to have to be, they were supposed to be one of the last states to reopen because of that. Obviously, we're not following all guidelines. |
| 2:32.6 | I'm just saying that, like, as someone that lives here, we're not just having a free-for-all, or at least I'm not. It depends on the person. That could be said anywhere, though. Yeah. So I just wanted to say if you've heard Iowa in the news or saw a Twitter moment like I did, bring that up quick. But people were on the interstate, traffic was busy. |
| 2:52.0 | I don't know where people were going. |
| 2:54.2 | Like construction vehicles, though. |
| 2:56.5 | I don't know if they're trying to pick up construction because they're expecting less traffic. |
| 3:01.3 | Yeah. |
| 3:01.5 | That's what I saw. |
| 3:02.3 | I was like, dang, there's a lot. |
| 3:04.4 | But we got there around noon and then me and Sierra like prod oyster crackers with us on our little road trip because we didn't want to stop and get anything from a drive-thru |
| 3:13.9 | just because when we do that here, we like go to a drive-thru and bring everything back home and like sanitize and do everything you can to try and like just make sure everything's as clean as possible. |
| 3:22.6 | So in the car like we wouldn't have |
| 3:24.5 | been able to do that and like that extra probably but whatever we were just like let's avoid it |
